Dominique Dawes Academy is seeking an entry-level Recreational Gymnastics Coach to lead safe, high-energy classes for athletes of various ages. You will foster confidence, coordination, strength, and teamwork while maintaining a positive, structured environment.

Ideal candidates are enthusiastic, team-oriented, and committed to ongoing training. Weekday afternoons/evenings and weekend mornings are available, with a focus on consistent weekly scheduling during the school year.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16 years old.
• Experience with children in instructional/athletic/recreational settings preferred.
• Background in gymnastics, cheer, dance, or movement discipline preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Instruct weekly gymnastics classes for preschool, beginner, and intermediate athletes.
• Create a welcoming, supportive class environment aligned with the academy’s philosophy.
• Follow class plans, skill progressions, and safety protocols.
• Provide age-appropriate instruction that challenges athletes while ensuring fun.
• Offer spotting and corrections to support skill development and safety.
• Engage with parents to provide feedback and build community.
• Maintain a clean, organized training space and assist with setup/teardown.
• Monitor athletes for safety and respond to injuries per gym protocols.
• Collaborate with teammates and management to ensure smooth class transitions.
• Attend staff trainings, team meetings, and evaluations.
• Represent the academy’s values of respect, teamwork, and excellence.

As a Recreational Gymnastics Coach, you’ll bring the energy, enthusiasm, and encouragement that makes every class an unforgettable experience. You’ll lead safe, high-energy gymnastics classes for athletes of all ages and skill levels—always with a smile and a supportive spirit. With positivity and structure, you’ll help kids develop confidence, coordination, strength, and teamwork, while inspiring them to discover the joy of movement.

Key Responsibilities

• Instruct weekly gymnastics classes for preschool, beginner, and intermediate-level athletes.
• Create a welcoming and supportive class environment aligned with Dominique Dawes Academy's philosophy of holistic child development.
• Follow class plans, skill progressions, and safety protocols provided by the academy’s leadership team.
• Provide age-appropriate instruction that challenges athletes while encouraging progress and fun.
• Offer verbal and physical spotting and corrections to ensure skill development and safety.
• Positively engage with parents before and after classes to provide feedback and build community.
• Maintain a clean and organized training space and assist in setting up/taking down equipment as needed.
• Monitor athletes closely and respond promptly to injuries or safety concerns, following gym protocols.
• Collaborate with teammates and management to ensure smooth class transitions and rotations.
• Attend required staff training sessions, team meetings, and seasonal evaluations.
• Represent the academy’s values of respect, teamwork, and excellence in all interactions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule & Environment

• Weekday afternoon/evening and weekend morning shifts available
• Classes are held in an indoor gym environment with frequent interaction with children and families
• Must be available for consistent weekly scheduling during the school year

Physical Requirements

• Ability to demonstrate physical skills and actively engage with students
• Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, lifting, and moving equipment
• Must be able to spot athletes safely and provide physical assistance as needed
• Ability to lift and move up to 25 lbs. and work in a physically active, fast-paced environment
