Turning Point Care Center, LLC in Moultrie, GA, is seeking a full-time Recreation Therapist to support adults with behavioral health disorders and substance abuse in inpatient and partial treatment settings. The role focuses on assessing patients’ leisure and recreational habits and delivering group-based therapeutic interventions to improve daily functioning.

A Bachelor's in Therapeutic Recreation or related field is required, with OT/CTRS preferred and experience in mental health or substance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Occupation Therapy or related field is required.
• Certification as an OT or CTRS is preferred.
• Experience with mental health and/or substance abuse patients is preferred.
• Knowledge of a variety of recreational activities is required.
• Ability to document in alignment with policy and good clinical practice.
• Ability to work effectively with staff, medical staff, patients and administration.

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements therapeutic recreation and psycho-education services for patients, including physical fitness and leisure activities.
• Administers therapeutic recreation assessments.
• Documents services and patient responses in medical records.
• Provides progress reports for treatment team meetings.
• Contributes to treatment plan development.
• Maintains recreation supplies and equipment, including holiday celebrations.
• Attends and participates in treatment team meetings as part of the interdisciplinary team.
