Job summary

Carolinas Staffing is seeking a Recreation Specialist in Southport, NC to coordinate daily gymnasium activities and recreation programs. You will support open gym, camps, clinics, classes, and special events, while maintaining a safe, welcoming environment.

Responsibilities include managing schedules, assisting participants and staff, and using RecDesk for registrations and records. Minimum two years in recreation or related field, with CPR/First Aid and mandated reporter training.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift 50lbs.
• Two (2) years of experience in recreation programming, facility operations, customer service, or related field.
• CPR and First Aid certifications and Mandated Reporter training completed or obtainable.

Carolinas Staffing is looking for a Recreation Specialist in Southport, NC!

Performs responsible recreation and facility operations work in coordinating daily gymnasium activities, recreation programs, facility schedules, and public use of the gymnasium. Work includes supporting open gym activities, camps, clinics, classes, special events, and other recreational programs; assisting participants and facility users; and maintaining a safe, organized, and welcoming environment.

Schedule

Monday through Saturday, 3:00pm - 9:00pm

Pay

$17.69 Hourly

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and supports gymnasium-based recreation programs and activities, including open gym, camps, clinics, classes, special events, and other assigned activities.
• Coordinates daily gymnasium operations and schedules to support organized, safe, and efficient facility use.
• Assists with planning, implementing, and evaluating recreation programs and activities to meet community needs.
• Monitors gym activities and participant conduct; assists staff, volunteers, coaches, and instructors in carrying out scheduled activities without exercising direct employee supervisory authority.
• Processes and maintains participant registrations, attendance, program schedules, and facility-use records using the companies' recreation management platform (currently RecDesk).
• Assists with promotion of Parks & Recreation programs, events, and activities.

Requirements

• Be able to pass a background check and drug test
• Must be able to lift 50lbs.
• Two (2) years of experience in recreation programming, facility operations, customer service, or a closely related field; or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain within a department-established timeframe, current CPR and First Aid certifications and completion of Mandated Reporter training.
