Job summary

High Point University is seeking an Intramural Referee to support intramural sports at Slane Field and Intramural Fields. Represent HPUREC with a positive, enthusiastic attitude while managing players and their surroundings during games, and help foster a safe, fair, and fun environment for all participants.

This student employee role requires up to 20 hours per week, typically 5pm–12am, Monday through Thursday. Starting pay is $8 per hour.

Qualifications

• Prior experience playing specific sports and refereeing preferred.
• Must maintain GPA 2.3 or higher.
• Evening hours Monday–Thursday 5pm–12am.

Responsibilities

• Manage situations between opposing teams in a calm manner
• Communicate the rules to all participants
• Unbiasedly evaluate the performance of participants
• Assist in set up and break down of the intramural event
• Create a safe environment for students to enjoy intramural sports
• Other duties as assigned

Recreation Services is a comprehensive approach to wellness, fellowship, and life-long fitness, that oversees the fitness center, group exercise, leisure activities, and intramural sports. As a student employee, you will gain the experience of leadership and management while enhancing your critical thinking and communication skills.

Job Description:

Represent HPUREC with a positive, enthusiastic attitude while managing players and their surroundings during intramural sports. Students will gain transferable job skills applicable in the real world through their HPUREC employment experiences such as leadership, communication, and persuasive skills.

Job Location/ Hours Required:

The candidate will perform most/all job duties in Slane and Intramural Fields. Hours may vary depending on the job requirements; however, the total number of hours a student employee may work per week is 20 hours. This position requires up to 12 hours per week.

Required Qualifications
