Job summary

Bernalillo County is seeking a Recreational Assistant to lead Recreation Aides, develop, schedule, and implement diverse recreational programs at assigned sites. Responsibilities include organizing activities, promoting inclusion, and enforcing facility rules to ensure safe, engaging experiences for all age groups.

You will assist with setup, participate in basic first aid/CPR/AED training, and handle clerical duties as needed within a community recreation setting.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in High School or possession of a High School Diploma or GED.
• One year of work experience in a recreational setting or equivalent.
• Any equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead recreation activities and supervise programs at assigned sites.
• Develop, schedule, and implement recreational programs for varied age groups and abilities.
• Promote inclusion and accommodate participants as needed.
• Enforce rules of facility and program use; prepare activity areas before/after sessions.
• Manage monetary transactions when assigned and maintain related records.
• Assist with basic first aid, CPR, and AED training as required.
