Qualifications

• One or more years of experience as a Recreation Officer I with the Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System or six or more years in group recreation/physical education with responsibilities for organizing, scheduling, and overseeing activities.
• Credit hours from an accredited college may substitute for up to three years of required experience (30 credit hours per year).
• All documents must be received by the closing date.

Responsibilities

• Directs a recreation program of limited scope or assists in organizing/conducting/overseeing activities.
• Schedules facilities for movies/group activities/special programs; prepares for activities; coordinates events; issues equipment; maintains records; inspects equipment.
• Cares for and maintains recreation facilities; assists in selecting and requisitioning equipment.
• May supervise staff; advises on problems; supports less-experienced workers; monitors participant behavior and recommends changes.
• Receives general administrative direction; work is reviewed by supervision; performs related work as assigned.
