Staff in this position will be supporting the magic of community events in various roles. This position will help lead activities at Get Out and Play Day, set up tables and chairs for special event rentals at the Adorni Community Center, hide Easter eggs in the park, or maybe dress up for Halloween and distribute candy! Friday Night and Weekend Availability is Required.
Under general supervision, oversees activities as related to youth and adult sports, after school programs, camps and overall recreational programming; coordinates and oversees enrichment and large motor activities; assists Recreation Division staff; performs related work as required.
Receives general supervision from management and/or supervisory Community Services personnel.
This is a temporary part-time class in the Recreation Division responsible for providing supervision in a variety of youth programs. This classification is distinguished from Recreation Aide in that the latter has lesser responsibility in either program development and/or administrative functions.

Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
Positions in this classification frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, climb, and walk on uneven surfaces to participate in recreational activities and basic facility maintenance; and push and pull drawers open and closed to retrieve and file information. Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects necessary to perform job functions.
Employees work in a variety of settings including a standard office and/or various indoor and outdoor recreational facility environments with moderate to high noise levels, differing temperature conditions and possible exposure to hazardous physical substances. Incumbents may be exposed to blood and body fluids rendering First Aid and CPR and are required to wear appropriate attire for the recreation activity to which they are assigned. Employees may interact with upset staff and/or public and private representatives in interpreting and enforcing departmental policies and procedures.
Is required to work various day, evening and weekend shifts, as assigned.
