Job summary

Alvin Tx is seeking a Recreation Leader to help administer and deliver community recreation, fitness and sports programs in Alvin. You will assist with registration, scheduling, marketing, and event coordination while ensuring excellent customer service to participants and residents.

The role involves supporting facility upkeep, gym activities, and safe, inclusive program delivery, under supervision of the Recreation Program Manager.

Qualifications

• One year of recreation experience preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
• Ability to obtain American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Certification within one year of employment.
• Ability to obtain American Water Safety Instructor Certification within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with administration and implementation of recreation, fitness, sports programs, community and special events.
• Provide excellent customer service to participants and citizens.
• Assist with program registration, scheduling, and marketing/promotional materials.
• Provide administrative support as assigned and help with setup, maintenance, and cleaning of facilities and equipment.
• Support gymnasium and weight room activities and ensure safe, engaging programming.

Job Announcement:
Under the general supervision of the Recreation Program Manager, the Recreation Leader supports and assists with the administration and implementation of recreation, fitness, sports, programs, community events, and other special events for the Alvin community. This position provides excellent customer service to participants and citizens, assists with program registration, scheduling, marketing and promotional materials, and provides administrative support as assigned. Responsibilities also include assisting with the setup, maintenance, and cleaning of recreational facilities and equipment, as well as supporting gymnasium and weight room activities. The Recreation Leader performs other duties as delegated by the Recreation Program Manager and contributes to the successful delivery of safe, engaging, and inclusive recreation programs and services.

Minimum Training and Experience:

• One (1) year of recreation experience preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment
• Ability to obtain American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Certification within one year of employment
• Ability to obtain American Water Safety Instructor Certification within one year of employment.
