The Phoenix Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a creative, compassionate Recreation Leader to plan and lead engaging activities for residents. The role emphasizes promoting socialization, independence, and quality of life in a supportive, patient-centered setting.

This position offers flexible scheduling and opportunities to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. Prior experience with seniors is preferred; Chinese-speaking is a plus.

Pay Rate: Up to $22 per hour

The Phoenix Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a creative, compassionate, and energetic Recreation Leader to join our team. The ideal candidate will help create engaging activities and meaningful experiences that promote socialization, independence, and quality of life for our residents.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and lead engaging recreational activities for residents.
• Develop activities based on residents' interests, abilities, and preferences.
• Lead group and one-on-one activities, including games, arts and crafts, music, entertainment, and social events.
• Encourage resident participation and create an inclusive, welcoming environment.
• Assist with special events, holiday celebrations, outings, and community programs.
• Maintain an activities calendar and accurate participation records.
• Communicate with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team regarding residents' activity interests and needs.
• Modify activities as needed to accommodate different physical and cognitive abilities.
• Ensure activities are conducted safely and in accordance with facility policies.
• Maintain a positive, respectful, and resident-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in recreation, activities, senior living, healthcare, or a related field preferred.
• Experience working with seniors or in a Skilled Nursing Facility is a plus.
• Chinese-speaking is a plus.
• Creative, enthusiastic, and dependable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with residents of varying physical and cognitive abilities.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Must enjoy working with seniors and have a genuine passion for improving residents' quality of life.
