The role supports recreation and internet facilities, acting as duty manager and ensuring smooth daily operations for a busy facility serving sailors and patrons.

The incumbent handles customer inquiries, processes payments, maintains security, attends to routine maintenance, and assists with program promotions and special events.

Responsibilities

• Serves as duty manager to keep the facility functioning smoothly, safely and effectively, acting as the point of contact for staff and addressing problems and complaints.
• Monitors opening/closing times, staff schedules, and overall cleanliness to ensure readiness for events and patron use.
• Manages cash receipts, performs cash drop procedures, and prepares the Daily Activity Report (DAR) with accurate cash totals.
• Maintains security and key control, monitors patron behavior, and conducts routine safety checks.
• Reports incidents to the supervisor and coordinates with CWPD for emergencies and maintenance concerns.
• Assists with program promotions, event setup, and trips, while promoting current recreation activities and services.
• Greets patrons, processes registrations, collects fees, and operates the cash register in accordance with facility policies.
• Checks for system issues in computer centers, assists users, and directs major problems to the contractor for resolution.
• Ensures compliance with rules on tobacco/alcohol, security, and general housekeeping to maintain a safe environment.
