City of Waltham is seeking a Recreation Facilities Maintenance Person to assist with the operation and upkeep of the ice rink under supervision. Responsibilities include basic facility maintenance and assisting full-time staff with arena operations.

The role requires a High School Diploma, CPR & First Aid certification, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift heavy objects. Hours vary, this is a part-time position ending 4/5/2027 and open until filled.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma; 1–3 years in building or rink maintenance.
• CPR & First Aid certification and a valid driver's license.
• Ability to respond to the general public’s inquiries and interact effectively and diplomatically.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects; dependable work history; CORI clearance.

Recreation Facilities Maintenance Person

Duties:Under the supervision of the Recreation Facilities Supervisors, the purpose of this position is to assist the full‑time staff with the operation and maintenance of the ice rink. Perform facility maintenance; knowledge of safety standards, emergency procedures and relative codes to operate and maintain equipment and machinery such as Zamboni, recommended. Monitors event and patrols facilities to ensure appropriate behavior and respect for facilities. Perform related duties as needed or if situation dictates. Qualifications:High School Diploma: One to three years’ experience in building maintenance and/or rink maintenance. Must have certification in CPR & First Aid and a valid driver’s license. Ability to respond to the general public’s inquires and interacting effectively and diplomatically. Ability to assist as needed and ability to lift and carry heavy objects. Dependable work history. Subject to passing CORI (Criminal Offenders Record Information).

Salary:$17.50-$21.00 hr.
Hours:Varied work hours including weekends. This is a part‑time, temporary position with no benefits. Not to exceed 19 hrs. wk. Position ends 4/5/2027
