Job summary

Islander Resort, part of Schulte Hospitality Group, seeks an energetic Activities Associate in Islamorada, FL. You will engage guests and coordinate outdoor and wellness activities, ensuring safety and high service standards at a luxury resort.

Ideal candidates have 1 year of hospitality or recreation experience, fluent English, and enjoy leading groups. This full-time role offers a dynamic work environment and opportunities for growth within SHG's portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Guest Engagement: Provide personalized service to guests, ensuring a smooth experience with resort activities.
• Activity Coordination: Lead and assist with scheduled activities, including outdoorsports, fitness classes, kids' programs, wellness experiences and events.
• Safety & Compliance: Monitor recreational areas to ensure a safe environment and follow safety procedures.
• Maintenance: Keep recreation areas, pools and equipment clean and ready.
• Program Development: Help create new recreational experiences aligned with luxury standards.
• Team Collaboration: Coordinate with other departments daily for seamless experiences.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Guest Engagement: Provide personalized service to guests, ensuring they have anenjoyable and seamless experience with resort activities.

Activity Coordination: Lead and assist with scheduled activities, including outdoorsports, fitness classes, kids' programs, wellness experiences, and cultural events.

Safety & Compliance: Monitor recreational areas to ensure a safe environment, follow safety procedures, and assist guests as needed.

Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness, storage and readiness of recreation areas, pools, equipment, and activity centers to include both indoor and outdoor spaces.

Program Development: Assist in creating new and innovative recreational experiences that align with the Inn's luxury standards and wellness culture.

Team Collaboration: Partner daily across departments to ensure seamless experiences.

KNO WLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Minimum 1 year experience in hospitality, recreation, and customer service, preferably in a luxury resort setting.

Fluency in written and verbal English.

Comfortable speaking in a group setting with an eye for detail and anticipation ofindividual needs.

Passion for and eagerness to learn wellness, fitness, event leading and outdoor activities trends and best practices.

Ability to lead and engage groups of guests of all ages in activities with enthusiasm, knowledge and professionalism.

Basic first aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).

Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Physically able to lift equipment, set up activity spaces, and be active throughout the shift.
