Job summary

Echelon Care and Rehab is seeking an Activities Aide to assist in planning and directing resident activity programs. The Recreation Assistant supports social recreation, crafts, and therapeutic activities, and may include reporting on residents’ progress.

The position offers benefits including health insurance, a 401(k), PTO, and overtime opportunities, plus same-day pay and weekly appreciation events. On-site work in Voorhees, NJ with a values-driven team.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Certification per regulatory agencies governing the facility.
• Must be able to read, write and understand English.
• Effective communicator with verbal/written skills.
• Well-developed organizational abilities.
• Some craft ability/knowledge.
• Perform record keeping and documentation as necessary.
• Ability to positively interact with residents, staff, families and the public.
• Provide annual verification of a negative TB skin test.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and promoting recreation based on residents' needs and interests.
• Encourage social interaction through group recreation.
• Provide programs of sensory training, reality orientation, re-motivation and re-socialization.
• Assist residents with participation in religious programs.
• Assist residents with leisure recreation.
• Document attendance and participation levels in recreation programs.
