Era Living is seeking a part‑time Recreation Assistant to join our Life Enrichment team located at The Gardens at Town Square Community in Bellevue, WA. We are looking for a creative, enthusiastic, and team‑oriented person to brainstorm new ideas, plan and implement activities, and help enhance the quality of life of our residents.
Available shifts will be scheduled on Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. The position is no more than 20 hours per week.

Primary Responsibilities
The Recreation Assistant leads small and large resident recreation group activities, including cognitive enrichment activities, physical fitness activities and classes, and off‑site outings. The role assists with social programming and planning and ensures resident safety, confidentiality, and sensitivity to the needs and concerns of older adults.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Valid Washington State Driver License and compliant driving record (must be 25 years old)
- Experience leading group activities and fitness programs (preferred)
- Computer proficiency: word processing, Publisher, and Excel (required)
- Excellent time management and attention to detail; proven ability to meet strict deadlines (required)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to read, write, and speak English (required)
- Ability to pass a DSHS background check (required)
Education & Experience
- High‑school diploma or GED (required); some post‑secondary education preferred
- Experience working with older adults or persons with cognitive impairments (preferred)
Required Certifications & Training
- First Aid and CPR certified or able to obtain within 30 days of hire
- Food Handler’s Certificate or able to obtain within 14 days of hire
- Washington State Alcohol Permit or able to obtain within 30 days of hire
- Complete Caregiver Dementia and Caregiver Mental Health training within 120 days of hire
- Complete 70‑hour course to earn a long‑term care aide certificate within 120 days of hire (unless worked in a boarding home setting in 2011)
- Complete 12 hours of Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) yearly (completed by birthdate)
