Job summary

Belle Care Center in New Jersey is seeking an Activities/ Recreation Aide to assist in planning and directing activity programs for residents. The role includes coordinating sports, arts, and social activities to meet residents’ needs.

The Recreation Aide will prepare progress reports and support a compassionate, team-focused environment. Minimum education includes high school or equivalent; English literacy is required.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Certification in accordance with regulatory agencies governing the facility.
• Must be able to read, write and understand the English language.

Responsibilities

• Assists in planning and promoting recreation based on resident needs and interests.
• Encourages social communication through group recreation.
• Provides programs of sensory training, reality orientation, re-motivation and re-socialization.
• Assists residents with participation in religious programs.
• Assists residents with leisure recreation.
• Documents resident attendance and participation; maintains relevant records.
• Attends in-service training programs; maintains supplies.
