Job summary

Connections Health Solutions in Kirkland is seeking a Recovery Support Specialist (RSS) for part-time nights to facilitate recovery and provide behavioral health crisis care. You will support individuals in crisis and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure effective treatment and recovery pathways.

The ideal candidate holds a Certified Peer Counselor (CPC) certification and has a background in behavioral health recovery. This role offers comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, PTO, and a 401(k) match.

Recovery Support Specialist (RSS) (PT, Nights)

Connections Health Solutions is a leading provider of immediate-access behavioral health crisis care. Our team combines medical and recovery-oriented treatment to stabilize individuals in crisis and connect them to community-based resources for ongoing recovery.

The position requires a Certified Peer Counselor (CPC) certification.

Earn More with Shift Differentials

  • +$2/hr → Monday-Thursday Nights
  • +$3/hr → Friday-Sunday Nights
  • +$2/hr → Saturday-Sunday Days

What You'll Do:

  • Act as an active facilitator (or co‑facilitator) in groups and individual recovery. Serve as an advocate and support resource throughout the treatment process.
  • Work to lessen the instance of seclusion (if applicable) and restraint by building therapeutic alliance and exercising trauma‑informed care.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of community resources to help meet individual’s unique recovery needs. Implement knowledge of multiple paths of recovery and promote them equally.
  • Work cohesively with the multi‑disciplinary team through all aspects of individual’s treatment and recovery.
  • Document all encounters with individuals in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Encourage and support from a place of understanding and willingness to use appropriate self‑disclosure.
  • Assist the transport team with patient transportation, ensuring safety and support during transit as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Certified Peer Counselor (CPC) certification required.
  • Registered with Washington State Care Authority.
  • Must be able to perform Safe Clinch restraint techniques.
  • Individuals with lived experience in behavioral health recovery or the parent/guardian of a child with lived experience with behavioral health services, 18 years or older, and in behavioral health recovery for at least one year.
  • Company has a mandatory vaccination policy. All successful applicants must be fully vaccinated with proper documentation, or be exempt under the company’s exemption process before their start date as a condition of employment.
  • Complete all credentialing requirements within the required time period, including but not limited to obtaining a National Provider Identifier (NPI), Medallion enrollment, Medicare enrollment, and any other necessary credentials for the role.
  • Must be able to obtain a Food Handlers Card for the State of Washington (BHS/RSS positions).
  • Physical Requirements
  • Safely perform physical interventions (standing, pivoting, reaching, kneeling, lowering to the floor, and supporting another person’s weight).
  • Lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Tolerate prolonged walking, standing, and observation in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Work with individuals who may exhibit agitation, aggression, or unpredictable behavior.

It would be great if you had:

  • CPS (Certified Peer Support) certification (will be required 07/2026).
  • Three years or more of personal recovery desired.
  • Behavioral Health/Substance Use Treatment or GMH Recovery experience.
  • Completion of Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA) CPC 40‑hour training and exam.
  • Completion of specialized peer certifications (WHAM, ASIST, etc.).
  • Knowledge of evidence‑based / person‑centered skillsets, such as Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Informed Care, Verbal De‑escalation, Harm Reduction, and Person‑centered language.
  • Valid Driver's license with a clean driving record.
