Job summary

Kids for the Future in Happy Valley, OR is seeking a Recovery Support Service Coordinator to develop and manage events and services at the 4D Recovery Community Center. This role engages the recovery community with external and internal support opportunities and ensures safe, effective center operations.

You will recruit RAC, organize weekly RAC meetings, create and oversee 4D Recovery events, and promote activities via social media and print materials.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least one year of continuous abstinence from all drugs/alcohol; MHACBO specs require two years in recovery.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; driving record acceptable.
• Certified Recovery Mentor via MHACBO or eligible within three months of hire.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Lived experience related to the population served.
• Excellent communication, trauma-informed approach and conflict resolution skills.
• Strong documentation skills with concise reporting.

The Recovery Support Service Coordinator (RSSC) is responsible for developing and managing events and general services at the 4D Recovery Community Center. This individual will engage and inform the recovery community of external and internal recovery support opportunities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Community Center Support (50%)

• Welcome and engage community center consumers.
• Acquire adequate supplies and equipment needed for program events and activities.
• Complete opening and closing duties including locking and unlocking, cleaning, and organizing. This may include sweeping, mopping, wiping surfaces, taking out trash, or other relevant duties as assigned.
• Manage community center meeting and event schedules and payment tracking system.
• Regularly staff the community center individually or as a team.
• Identify and inform the manager of maintenance or structural damages at the community center.
• Monitor behaviors of visitors to the center and react appropriately, including de-escalating heightened situations, responding to threats to safety and security, and taking other actions as needed.

Recovery Support Services (35%)

• Recruit and develop Recovery Activities Committee (RAC).
• Conduct weekly meetings with the Recovery Activities Committee (RAC).
• Using (RAC), Create, develop, and oversee 4D Recovery events for the recovery community center.
• Promote and market events/activities at the 4D Community Center via social media, flyers, word of mouth, etc.
• Maintains confidential and sensitive information.

Documentation (15%)

• Complete documentation of all service activities listed in the RSSC Manual.
• Document any incidents that occur on the site premises.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• This position may require handling and disposal of needles as part of clean-up duties, necessitating adherence to proper safety protocols to mitigate potential risks and ensure a safe working environment.
• Attend agency and team meetings, supervision meetings, and evaluations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB/BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES

• Design/Social Media skills. This position requires a basic understanding of social media and marketing, including creating flyers to capture attention and interest for events at the community center.
• Skilled with Conflict Management. You must possess basic essential skills related to de-escalation and conflict resolution. With a community center open to all individuals who want a safe environment, this position requires managing and overseeing all interactions between community members and navigating conflict in a safe manner.
• Service. You must support an organizational culture that reflects the value placed on high quality client services and inter-departmental collaboration. This involves maintaining excellent professionalism and ethical boundaries.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• This position typically requires a High School Diploma/GED.
• At least one year of continuous abstinence from all forms of drugs and alcohol, except those prescribed by a doctor (excluding marijuana based on federal laws). Two years in recovery is required per MHACBO specifications.
• Must have reliable transportation or maintain a valid driver’s license for state of residency and have a driving record permitting coverage under the corporate liability policy. If driving a personal vehicle for work purposes must also have and maintain personal auto liability coverage. All employees driving for work purposes, regardless of whether driving a personal or agency vehicle, must complete the agency’s driving approval process before they drive for work.
• Must be a Certified Recovery Mentor via MHACBO or be eligible to achieve the certification within three months of hire.
• Understanding of multiple pathways to recovery and recovery support services.
• Ability to work independently and as a team player.
• Lived experience related to the population being served.
• Able to establish and maintain professional boundaries while providing supportive services and building trusting relationships with clients, staff and community partners.
• Excellent communication, trauma-informed approach and conflict resolution skills
• Well-developed documentation skills and a strong commitment to quality management; ability to write accurate and concise reports while meeting tight deadlines.
• Functional ability with Google Suite programs including: GMail, GDrive, GCalendar, GDocs, etc.
• Must be dependable, flexible and punctual, and exhibit strong time management skills.
• Able to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively both orally and in writing. Able to clearly articulate information to people of varying cultural, linguistic, and educational backgrounds.
• Able to problem solve and develop creative approaches.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working with minority communities, especially transition age youth demographics, and knowledge of the current disparities that certain communities of service users may face more broadly in society.
• Experience with Canva or other design software.
• Experience with event planning, including budgeting, coordinating, and hosting.

JOB DETAILS

Pay: $24.00 - $25.00 per hour, Full-time | $1/hr pay differential may be available to bilingual employees

Schedule: Flexible, to be determined with Supervisor. Generally requires evenings and weekends.
