Hccada in Kerrville, TX seeks a Recovery Support Peer Specialist to engage individuals seeking recovery from opioid use disorder and help them build social connections. You will provide guidance, encouragement, and practical support to maintain treatment, find employment, and improve quality of life.
Requires lived experience, minimum 2 years in recovery, ability to work 40 hours weekly, 46 hours of training, reliable transportation, and basic computer skills.
The Recovery Support Peer Specialist is responsible for the engagement and linking of individuals needing to obtain or maintain treatment and recovery from opioid use disorder. Recovery Support Peer Specialists do this by providing consistent support, guidance, and encouragement that impacts the peer in developing positive social relationships and achieving positive outcomes such as job retention, family reunification, and reduced recidivism.
Supervisory Relationships: Reports to Program Coordinator
Have lived experienced in opioid and/or substance abuse disorder and currently in recovery. A minimum of two (2) years in recovery outside a structured living environment such as treatment, jail, prison or institution and one-year total recovery length. Documentation of treatment completion and demonstration of mature and healthy coping. Willingness to submit to pre-employment drug screen and background check. Must have transportation. Basic computer skills in Word and Outlook. Ability to attend 46 hours of training in peer coach training and to work 40 hours weekly.
