Job summary

American Addiction Centers is seeking a Treatment Advocate to monitor daily patient activities and support recovery efforts. You will work with the treatment team to coordinate services, welcome new patients, and assist with program scheduling and documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required from an accredited institution.
• Associate or bachelor’s Degree preferred in Behavioral Sciences (social sciences, human services, counseling, or psychology).
• Valid Driver’s License required with insurable driving record.
• Working knowledge of vehicle safety and control systems.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a behavioral healthcare field preferred.
• Knowledge of utilizing electronic health record software and documentation preferred.
• Ability to read, write and interpret written information, type documentation, present information to groups and participate in meetings.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Welcome new patients and assist with orientation of programming schedule and rules.
• Conduct patient belongings search during admission.
• Complete rounds and security checks (Q15, Q30, Q60).
• Coordinate patient daily schedule including treatment meetings and counseling.
• Provide support and encouragement to patients and participation in group/individual/family counseling services.
• Support clinical services as assigned by clinical manager.
• Attend weekly treatment team and program staff meetings.
• Ensure documentation meets contract, licensure, accreditation, and policy guidelines.
