Job summary

Personalized Nursing LIGHT House (PNLH) seeks qualified candidates for Residential Aide positions at our Madison Heights location. This role provides direct support in a structured behavioral health environment, assisting with daily needs and helping with intake and discharge processes to maintain a safe residential setting.

Responsibilities include light cleaning, kitchen and laundry tasks, documentation, and effective communication with the team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Willingness and ability to learn internal systems.
• Ability to pass required pre-employment screenings.
• CNA certification preferred.
• CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
• Experience in substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health, residential care, or human services preferred.
• Training or experience in trauma-informed care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Light cleaning including wiping down and stocking the kitchen, sanitizing and organizing common areas.
• Program laundry.
• Stocking the bathrooms.
• Turning over resident bedrooms—sanitizing the room, cleaning the bed, making sure the room is empty, making the bed.
• Answer phone and take messages on incoming calls and email the appropriate staff.
• Scan in client files.
• Support residents with daily needs in a professional and respectful manner.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and structured residential environment.
• Assist with resident intake and discharge processes.
• Monitor resident behavior and report concerns to the team.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record system.
• Communicate effectively with team members regarding resident needs and changes.
• Maintain professional boundaries and appropriate conduct at all times.
• Maintain appropriate emotional regulation and professionalism when responding to resident needs, including during periods of stress or behavioral escalation.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
