Job summary

Chestnut Health Systems is seeking a dedicated Community Support Specialist to deliver direct, recovery-oriented services in community settings. You will work with consumers to promote independence and wellness while upholding trauma-informed, person-centered care.

This Full-Time role operates Monday through Friday during daytime hours in Illinois. Starting pay ranges from $19.00 to $20.00 per hour, with potential for additional benefits as determined by Chestnut.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree in counseling, social work, education, psychology, or related human service field required.
• If bachelor’s degree is in another field, must have at least 2 years of supervised clinical mental health experience.
• Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) certification in good standing with the State of Illinois is accepted.
• Valid driver’s license and private automobile insurance are necessary.
• Basic computer skills including MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and EMR systems required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, recovery-oriented support to individuals in community-based settings.
• Promote independence, stability, and wellness while applying trauma-informed, person-centered care.
• Assist with referrals, linkage, and advocacy to community resources.
• Build and maintain relationships with consumers, families, partners, and staff.
• Document services in line with treatment and safety plans; maintain confidentiality.
