Job summary

Pinnacle Treatment Centers is seeking a Counselor to support the recovery journey for patients in California. The role involves conducting intakes, assessments, treatment planning, and ongoing counseling aligned with federal/state regulations.

The position emphasizes professional collaboration, documentation accuracy, and delivering evidence-based care while advancing through our Counselor Tier Program and licensure pathways.

Qualifications

• Possess an associate degree in relevant field and credentials to provide counseling services.
• Kern County requires a bachelor’s degree or higher; preferred for advancement.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred; certification/licensing requirements vary by role.

Responsibilities

• Provide orientation to new patients on program rules, policies, and rights.
• Conduct Intakes, Discharge Planning, Initial Assessments, and Initial Treatment Plans.
• Involve patients in assessment and treatment planning; develop individualized Treatment Plans (SNAP).
• Administer biopsychosocial assessments and monitor patient status.
• Develop and document care with standardized tools and relapse prevention strategies.
• Refer high-risk patients to Medical Directors or RCLs and coordinate with other practitioners.
• Deliver counseling and referrals, including individual and group sessions; utilize evidence-based approaches.
• Attend training and maintain required documentation and scheduling in the EHR scheduler.
