Job summary

Wentworth-Douglass Physicians Organization (WDP) in Dover, NH, seeks a dedicated full-time Recovery Coach to support patients in their recovery journey. In this collaborative role, you will work closely with an interdisciplinary team, engaging with patients at the bedside and assisting with care planning and coordination.

Qualifications

  • Must possess Recovery Coach New Hampshire State Certification within 1 year.
  • 2 to 3 years of sustained recovery experience required.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience working with substance use disorders required.

Job description

Are you passionate about supporting individuals on their recovery journey? We are seeking a full‑time, 40‑hour compassionate and motivated Recovery Coach to join our interdisciplinary team supporting patients in both Emergency Department and inpatient settings located at 798 Central Ave in Dover, NH.

Schedule
  • Sundays & Tuesdays – 8:00 am to 8:30 pm
  • Mon­days & Thursdays – 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

This unique opportunity allows you to collaborate closely with nurses, physicians, social workers, behavioral health clinicians, and other members of the care team in a fast‑paced hospital environment. In this role, you will work directly with individuals navigating substance use and recovery challenges, providing encouragement, advocacy, and connection to resources during critical moments of care.

Responsibilities

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology preferred.

Licenses and Credentials
  • Recovery Coach New Hampshire State Certification – required (must be obtained within 1 year)
  • Certified Recovery Support Worker (CRSW – New Hampshire) – preferred
Experience
  • Sustained recovery experience – 2 to 3 years (required)
  • Experience working with people with substance use disorders – 3 to 5 years (required)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, and staff
  • Exhibit excellent problem‑solving skills in one‑on‑one and group settings
  • Proficient in office equipment and Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain written records and reports
  • Adjust actions in relation to others’ actions
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skill to safely and effectively operate standard equipment
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
