Job summary

Gosnold, Inc. seeks a Recovery Aide to serve as the lead liaison between staff and patients in a behavioral health setting, supporting nurses and counselors and assisting families with recovery goals.

The role requires experience or education in addiction or mental health, plus flexibility to cover multiple shifts, including weekends. Start in Falmouth with relocation to Wareham this fall; benefits accompany full-time employment.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• 1-3 years of customer service experience.
• Ability to cover multiple shifts, including weekends.
• Comfort speaking in front of larger groups.
• Current CPR certification or CPR certifiable.
• Preferred: MA Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Monitor high-risk patients and assist with group participation to reduce recovery-interfering behaviors and report outcomes to supervisors.
• Conduct specialty groups such as Under 30, WRAP, and YAOPs; document attendance in EMR.
• Track and complete program evaluations; report data to Program Director and Clinical Manager.
• Relate and communicate effectively with patients in a treatment setting.
• Participate in recovery-oriented socialization and monitor activity to ensure program guidelines are followed.
• Document observations and participation in patient records, shift logs, and incident reports.
• Work closely with the counseling team and provide support as needed.
• Meet with patients individually when appropriate.
• Uphold Gosnold’s values and policies, especially regarding boundaries.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

SUMMARY:

The Recovery Aide acts as the lead liaison between staff; communicates directly with nurses, counselors, and medication specialists on duty; contacts Program Director and Director of Nursing when issues arise. This role is responsible for assisting patients and families in the behavioral health system to enhance their recovery and promote wellness. The Recovery Aide must have experience, training, and/or education in the field of addiction.

This position will start in Falmouth and move to Wareham this Fall.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitor high-risk patients by assisting with group participation, providing support and redirection to reduce recovery-interfering behaviors, and enhancing engagement to reduce AMA/ACAs. Report outcomes to Program Director, Director of Nursing, and RA Supervisor via daily emails.
• Conduct specialty groups such as “Under 30", Relapse Prevention (WRAP) and Young Adult Opioid Population (YAOPs); document attendance in electronic medical record.
• Track and complete program evaluations; report data to Program Director and Clinical Manager.
• Relate and communicate effectively with patients in a treatment setting.
• Participate in recovery-oriented socialization via informal interactions with patients, circulating in the program to monitor patient activity and ensuring maintenance of program guidelines.
• Document observations, activities, and participation in appropriate records including the patient record, shift logs, and in the preparation of incident reports.
• Work closely with and provide support to the counseling team.
• Meet with patients individually when appropriate.
• Uphold Gosnold’s organizational values and policies and procedures, especially related to appropriate boundaries.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, Experience, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required to perform the job

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience:Experience, training, and/or education in the field of addiction or mental health. Ability to cover multiple shifts, including weekends. One to Three (1-3) years of customer service experience. Experience and comfortability with high-stress, fast-paced environment. Comfort speaking in front of larger groups.
• Skills: Computer literate and knowledgeable about current office applications.Knowledge and understanding of sanitation, cleanliness, safety, and facility upkeep.
• Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:Current CPR certification or be CPR certifiable.
• Preferred:Valid MA Driver’s License with no restrictions. Experience with addiction and mental health. Past experience with facilitation of groups.
