The Corvallis Police Department seeks a Records Specialist to join the Records Unit serving both the Corvallis Police Department and Benton County Sheriff's Office. This full-time position handles non-emergency calls, files and databases, and assists in-person visitors at the Law Enforcement Building.
Applicants must be customer-service oriented, detail-focused, and able to use several software programs. LEDS Update/Inquiry certification and CJIS clearance are required, with a background check.
The mission of the Corvallis Police Department is to enhance community livability by working in partnership with the community to promote public safety and crime prevention through education and enforcement; to maintain public order while preserving the legal rights of all individuals; to provide effective, efficient and courteous service; and to reduce the impact of crime.
The Records Specialist is responsible for answering non-emergency phone calls managing electronic files and databases, and assisting in-person customers at the Law Enforcement Building. Serve as the first point of contact with individuals, including victims of crime, sex offenders, angry/agitated individuals, job applicants and law enforcement professionals. Must be customer-service focused, detail oriented, dependable and perform work using several computer software programs. The Records Unit provides service for dual agencies, the Corvallis Police Department and the Benton County Sheriff’s Office. These tasks are illustrative only and may include other related duties.
Ability to obtain LEDS Update/Inquiry certification. Must successfully pass a comprehensive background investigation including criminal history check and obtain an Oregon State Police CJIS clearance.
