Job Summary

The responsibilities include entering patient information into our software program. It will involve accessing various electronic medical records systems. Looking for a candidate who can type 50+ words per minute with accuracy and provide our customers with the highest quality product and customer service. Must always safeguard and protect the patient's right to privacy by ensuring that only authorized individuals have access to the patient's medical information and that all releases of information are in compliance with the request, authorization, company policy, and HIPAA regulations.

Essential Job Functions
  • Accurately entering patient information into our software program
  • Access various electronic medical records systems
  • Provide a high level of customer service
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods
  • Physical ability to lift and carry 25 lbs. of materials
  • Manual dexterity and strength sufficient to enter information via computer keyboard for extended periods, write notes, and handle paperwork and supplies
  • Sufficient eyesight to read documents and view computer screens accurately
  • Effective speaking and hearing abilities for communication
  • Eye/hand coordination, hearing, and visual acuity for daily tasks
Information Governance Accountabilities
  • Understanding of the organization’s information governance program and role-specific responsibilities
  • Knowledge of policies, procedures, and processes affecting work impact on organizational data integrity
  • Willingness to discuss questions and suggest improvements for standardization
  • Participation in required training for compliance and role-specific tasks
HIPAA/Compliance
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient, employee, and volunteer information, accessing only on a need-to-know basis
  • Comply with all security and integrity regulations
  • Report unethical, fraudulent, or unlawful activity
  • Maintain current HIPAA certification annually
Qualifications
  • Experience in a medical records environment helpful but not required; training provided
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Typing speed of 50+ words per minute
  • Focus on high-quality work, self-motivated, team-oriented, organized, reliable, and detail-oriented
