Job summary

California Rural Legal Assistance, Inc. seeks a Staff Attorney to provide post-conviction services for record clearing in the Santa Barbara & Ventura counties.

You will conduct outreach, clinics, and case management, maintaining an active caseload and coordinating referrals with CRLA staff and external partners. The role requires CA bar admission or intent to sit for the exam, excellent communication, and strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Admitted to practice law in California or willing to take the California Bar Exam.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong public speaking and training abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide full-scope representation for record clearing in Santa Barbara & Ventura counties.
• Conduct Know Your Rights presentations and outreach, clinics, and case management.
• Maintain caseload and coordinate referrals with CRLA staff and external partners.
• Create and present training on record clearing procedures and legal theory.
• Collaborate with the Development Department for grant reporting and evaluation.
