Job summary

Watterson Restoration & Facility Solutions in New Jersey is seeking a skilled Reconstruction Technician to restore properties damaged by fire, water, mold, and storms. You will perform drywall repairs, carpentry, plumbing, and flooring installation, assisting mitigation teams as needed.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in construction/handyman services, a valid driver's license, and familiarity with mitigation processes. OSHA/IICRC certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in construction/handyman services.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing.
• Mitigation knowledge for water, fire, mold preferred.
• OSHA/IICRC certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic drywall repairs, including patching, taping, and applying standard finishes.
• Conduct minor carpentry and cabinetry repairs to restore damaged structures.
• Execute basic plumbing tasks, such as fixing leaks or replacing fixtures.
• Install and repair flooring materials in affected areas.
• Restore properties to pre-loss condition following fire, water, mold, or storm damage (turnkey restoration).
• Assist mitigation technicians with water extraction, fire damage cleanup, and mold remediation efforts.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and building codes.
• Reachable by phone during waiting to be engaged periods, but otherwise free to use your time for personal activities unless contacted to report for duty.
• Operate company vehicles, as necessary.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

• Team player with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Technical Proficiency – Demonstrated ability to effectively use and adapt to new technologies and digital platforms.
