Job summary

Highland Pellets in Arkansas seeks a maintenance technician to perform and document inspections, analyze equipment performance, and implement changes to keep a steady flow of chips.

You will oversee grooming and normal reclaim of linear chip piles, assist the wood yard with the stacker, and maintain all equipment, tools, and workstations.

Strong attention to detail, ability to follow written and verbal instructions, and compliance with local, state, and federal codes are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; trade school or college preferred.
• Must maintain compliance with LOTO, confined space, hot work and heights.
• OSHA 10 training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document required equipment inspections.
• Analyze equipment performance and implement changes to maintain steady chip flow.
• Oversee grooming and normal reclaim of chip piles.
• Assist wood yard in operating the stacker.
• Ensure work is performed timely and safely; maintain equipment and workstations.
• Record labor, materials and equipment used; communicate deficiencies to team.
• Follow written and verbal instructions with meticulous attention to detail.
• Participate in breakdown/rcc analysis and 5S projects.
• Adhere to local, state and federal codes and regulations.

• Oversee the Proper Functions of Grooming and Normal Reclaim of the Linear Chip Piles.
• Assist the Wood Yard in Watching the Proper Functions of the Stacker.
• Ensure All Work Is Performed in a Timely and Safe Manner.
• Maintain All Equipment, Tools, and Workstations.
• Ability to Utilize Skills to Improve Equipment Optimization and Reliability.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Education; Trade School or College Preferred.
• Ability to Sit in One Location for Multiple Hours.
• Ability to Stay Awake While Watching the Equipment Flow to Prevent Upset Conditions on the Reclaimer and Stacker System.
• One Year of In Plant Manufacturing Experience.
• Ability to Work Independently and Utilize Critical Problem Solving and Decision-Making Skills to Generate and Implement Solutions Throughout the Process.
• Must Maintain Compliance Within All LOTO, Confined Space, Hot Work, Working at Heights Policies.
• OSHA 10 Training and Experience.
• Ability to Work Extended Hours to Includes Nights, Weekends, and Holidays.
• Ability to Continuously Walk or Stand, Bend, Squat, Climb Stairs and Lift Items Above Shoulders.
• Ability to Work Outdoors, Rotating Shifts, and Lift 50 Pounds Required.
