Job summary

Kodiak Gas Services is seeking a highly skilled reciprocating engine specialist to diagnose and troubleshoot complex failures across our field fleet. You will lead root-cause analysis, support commissioning, and drive reliability improvements while mentoring intermediate and entry technicians.

This role operates across sites, with significant fieldwork and up to 50% travel; strong diagnostic software literacy and schematics ability are required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, improve, and standardize maintenance procedures, troubleshooting guides, and reliability practices.
• Support toughest field issues across multiple sites with minimal oversight.

Position Summary

Highest-level reciprocating engine specialist responsible for complex diagnostics, commissioning support, fleet reliability, and continuous improvement of maintenance programs. Operates independently across sites and serves as a technical authority for field teams.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform advanced diagnostics and resolve complex or novel failures on reciprocating generators and auxiliary systems.

Education, Experience & Training

• Proven contribution to procedure development, reliability, ormaintenanceprogram improvement.

Certifications

Valid Driver’s License, with Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) within acceptable parameters of Company Policy.

Physical Demands

• Operation of heavy equipment and tools.
• Standing up to 75% of thetime;sitting up to 25% of the time.
• Ability to climb ladders or stairs andmaintainbalance withoutassistance.
• Frequent lifting of at least 10 pounds; infrequent lifting over 50 pounds.
• Work in high-noise environments (>85 dBA) with required hearing protection.
• Work outdoors in extreme heat and cold; controlled exposure to hazardous chemicals.
• Use of required PPE including FR clothing, hard hats, hearing, eye, and foot protection.

Travel Requirements

Position may require domestic and international travel and overnight stays depending on business needs. Travel may exceed 50% and may occur on short notice.
