Job summary

The Francis Howell School District is seeking a Part-time Recess Paraprofessional at Fairmount Elementary for the 2026-2027 year. The role supports recess programs, supervises students, and helps maintain a safe, engaging environment during play.

Hours are 10:20 am to 2:40 pm, 4 hours 20 minutes daily, at $17.74 per hour. Responsibilities include attending in-service training, enforcing classroom and playground rules, maintaining equipment, planning activities, and reporting safety concerns to

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Job-related experience is desired.
• Skills: Ability to perform multiple tasks and maintain accurate records.
• Knowledge: Basic math, including fractions, percents, and ratios.
• Abilities: Schedule and organize activities; maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Attend Training: Participate in in-service training for the role.
• Implement Discipline: Enforce discipline procedures to help students follow rules.
• Maintain Equipment: Ensure playground equipment is in working order and replenish supplies as needed.
• Monitor Students: Supervise students during recess to ensure safety and well-being.
• Organize Activities: Plan and execute indoor and outdoor activities to keep students engaged.
• Report Issues: Communicate discipline concerns and report safety hazards to staff.
