Job summary

Cottages of New Lenox is seeking a friendly Receptionist to welcome residents, families and visitors, provide information and referrals in a caring, service-oriented manner. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and a willingness to assist with light clerical tasks in a busy eldercare setting.

Working every other weekend, you will help maintain a positive first impression, coordinate with staff, and support residents with a warm, respectful approach as part of our

• Experience in assisted living or similar eldercare setting is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic clerical tasks including typing, filing, and light bookkeeping.

Responsibilities

• Provide information and referrals to residents, visitors, staff and prospective clients in a positive, service-oriented manner.
• Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor in a busy environment with interruptions.
• Perform basic clerical duties (typing, filing, light bookkeeping) as needed.
• Support a welcoming reception area and assist with scheduling as required.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The receptionist is responsible for providing information and referral to residents, visitors, staff, and prospective clients in a positive, service-oriented manner. The Receptionist must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. He/she must possess basic clerical skills; typing, filing, light bookkeeping and be able to work in an environment with multiple interruptions. The position requires a pleasant nature and a

willingness and desire to work with the elderly.

UNIVERSAL PRECAUTIONS:

Potential for exposure to blood/body fluids not likely.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Incumbent will sit for extended periods of time. Lift between 1-20 pounds occasionally. Walks throughout facility as needed. Visual acuity and good hearing.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Exceptional communication and conflict resolution skills. Typing and ten key adding machine. Ability to function as a team member. Good interpersonal skills with all levels of staff, residents, families, and the public.
