Job summary

Kids for the Future is seeking a dedicated receptionist to be the first point of contact for patients and visitors at our clinic in Houghton Lake, MI. You will greet guests, collect demographic information, and help with insurance requirements to support seamless patient care and administrative operations.

The role requires the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, lift up to 50 lbs as needed, and maintain professional communication on the phone and in person.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a clinical reception environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist all patients/visitors.
  • Check in patients collecting demographic information.
  • Collect/Update patient documentation.
  • Assist patients with completion of documentation.
  • Provide welcoming and professional patient care at all times.
  • Handle payment collection and cash drawer; balance at end of shift.
  • Be available for all shifts (6:30am, 7:00am, 8:30am), with closer staying until last patient leaves.

Description

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist all patients/visitors.

Check in patients while collecting all necessary patient demographic information.

Collect/Update all needed patient documentation

Assist patients with completion of all documentation.

Provide the best patient care at all times .

Other duties as assigned by the Non-Clinical Manager

Greeting patients/visitors with a friendly smile/welcoming voice as they enter/exit facility

Collection of payment-Handling of cash drawer/balancing at end of each shift

Being available for all shifts-3 shifts: 6:30am, 7:00am and 8:30am. (closer stays until last patient leaves)

Multitask and problem-solving skills.

Deal with any issues that may arise/handling situations as first point of contact

Knowledge of the facility and different services that are offered.

Requirements

J OB REQUIREMENTS

Frequently required to physically aide patients

Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Exposure to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, as well as trauma, grief and death

Overall vision is necessary; including reading, depth perception, close-up work and must have a peripheral field of vision.

Hearing and speech on the phone as well as in person are necessary

Must be able to communicate verbally in person, on the phone and in writing

Frequently required to sit/stand/walk for extended periods of time

Some exposure to blood borne pathogens and other potentially infectious material.

Ability to handle multiple tasks, get along with others, work independently, regular and predictable attendance

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma or GED

Knowledge of m edical terminology
