Job summary

Ollie is seeking a Receiving Team Leader to oversee the efficient operation of the receiving area, ensuring timely freight flow to the sales floor and proper back stock management. You will also manage the disposition of damaged goods to minimize loss and maintain merchandising standards.

The role requires coordinating with store teams, directing associates, and stepping in as Manager on Duty as assigned. A high school diploma and retail experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 6 months experience with a mid- to large-size retailer.
• Schedule flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays on a regular basis.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and delegate tasks while meeting deadlines.
• Must have a positive attitude and ability to interact with customers and associates.

Responsibilities

• Plan, unload, check in, and support merchandising of distribution shipments.
• Receive, verify, and merchandise all direct vendor shipments.
• Manage freight flow in the receiving area and maintain a safe dock.
• Adhere to company standards; confirm incoming merchandise accuracy and set up displays.
• Prepare outbound transfers of merchandise and fixtures.
• Direct the work of other Associates assisting with freight flow.
• Act as Manager on Duty and handle opening/closing of the store.

Position Overview:

The Receiving Team Leader oversees the efficient operation and maintenance of the receiving area as outlined in the company receiving area plan. Responsibilities include the accurate, efficient, and timely execution of freight flow to the sales floor in accordance with established processing and visual merchandising standards. Maintain back stock in the receiving area and manage the disposition of damaged goods to minimize profit loss.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Plan, unload, check in, and support the merchandising of distribution shipments of merchandise.
• Receive, verify, and merchandise all direct vendor shipments.

Manage effective freight flow in the receiving area while maintaining equipment and a safe, orderly dock and exterior.

• Adhere to company standards confirm the accuracy of all incoming merchandise and set up and design merchandise displays.
• Prepare and process outbound transfers of merchandise and fixtures as required.
• Direct the work of other Associates who are assisting with freight flow processes.
• Act as Manager on Duty and complete any additional responsibilities as assigned including opening and closing of the store.
