Job summary

Ollie’s is seeking a Receiving Team Leader in Laurens, SC to oversee the efficient operation of the receiving area and ensure accurate freight flow to the sales floor.

You will manage back stock, verify shipments, design displays, and lead associates, while maintaining safety and a positive, service-focused store environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 6 months experience with a mid- to large-size retailer.
• Schedule flexibility for early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and delegate tasks under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Plan, unload, check in, and merchandise distribution shipments to the sales floor.
• Receive, verify, and merchandise all vendor shipments.
• Direct the work of associates and maintain a safe, efficient receiving area.
• Act as Manager on Duty and assist with opening and closing the store.

Position Overview:

The Receiving Team Leader oversees the efficient operation and maintenance of the receiving area as outlined in the company receiving area plan. Responsibilities include the accurate, efficient, and timely execution of freight flow to the sales floor in accordance with established processing and visual merchandising standards. Maintain back stock in the receiving area and manage the disposition of damaged goods to minimize profit loss.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Plan, unload, check in, and support the merchandising of distribution shipments of merchandise.
• Receive, verify, and merchandise all direct vendor shipments.

Manage effective freight flow in the receiving area while maintaining equipment and a safe, orderly dock and exterior.

• Adhere to company standards confirm the accuracy of all incoming merchandise and set up and design merchandise displays.
• Prepare and process outbound transfers of merchandise and fixtures as required.
• Direct the work of other Associates who are assisting with freight flow processes.
• Act as Manager on Duty and complete any additional responsibilities as assigned including opening and closing of the store.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 6 months experience with a mid- to large-size retailer.

• Ability to organize, prioritize, and delegate tasks while working within strict timeframes and deadlines.
• Must have a positive attitude and the ability to interact well with customers and associates.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to push and pull up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
