Job summary

Ollie’s Bargain Outlet is seeking a Receiving Team Leader in Cary, NC to oversee the receiving area, ensure efficient freight flow to the sales floor, and manage back stock. You will apply established processing and merchandising standards and minimize profit loss from damaged goods.

The role requires coordinating merchandise intake, directing others, and acting as Manager on Duty as needed. Strong organizational skills and customer/associate interaction are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 6 months experience with a mid- to large-size retailer.
• Schedule flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to organize, prioritize and delegate tasks under deadlines.
• Positive attitude and ability to interact well with customers and associates.

Responsibilities

• Plan, unload, check in, and support merchandising of distribution shipments.
• Receive, verify, and merchandise direct vendor shipments.
• Manage freight flow in the receiving area and maintain a safe, orderly dock.
• Adhere to standards and confirm the accuracy of all incoming merchandise and set up displays.
• Prepare and process outbound transfers of merchandise and fixtures as required.
• Direct the work of other associates assisting with freight flow processes.
• Act as Manager on Duty and handle additional responsibilities including opening/closing the store.

Position Overview:

The Receiving Team Leader oversees the efficient operation and maintenance of the receiving area as outlined in the company receiving area plan. Responsibilities include the accurate, efficient, and timely execution of freight flow to the sales floor in accordance with established processing and visual merchandising standards. Maintain back stock in the receiving area and manage the disposition of damaged goods to minimize profit loss.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Plan, unload, check in, and support the merchandising of distribution shipments of merchandise.
• Receive, verify, and merchandise all direct vendor shipments.
• Manage effective freight flow in the receiving area while maintaining equipment and a safe, orderly dock and exterior.
• Adhere to company standards confirm the accuracy of all incoming merchandise and set up and design merchandise displays.
• Prepare and process outbound transfers of merchandise and fixtures as required.
• Direct the work of other Associates who are assisting with freight flow processes.
• Act as Manager on Duty and complete any additional responsibilities as assigned including opening and closing of the store.
