Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club is seeking a supervisory-warehouse role in Maryland. The position focuses on leading receiving teams, ensuring product safety, proper stocking, and efficient warehouse operations from dock to put away.

The role involves enforcing GMP/COOL/HAACP guidelines, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with HR for staffing and payroll processes. The ideal candidate will oversee training, safety compliance, and daily performance metrics, while ensuring timely documentation

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train and mentor team members
• Ensure product temperatures are reviewed, validated, and documented in WMS from dock arrival to put away
• Ensure trucks are unloaded properly and safely
• Ensure all pallets are tagged and recorded appropriately
• Ensure accurate product location and protection by all employees
• Help control OSHA incident rates by monitoring sanitation, safety policies, and pre-shift meetings
• Monitor GMP/COOL/HAACP and other food safety guidelines daily
• Complete and file error/exception walk-through templates and pre-shift assignments
• Ensure Emergency Contact lists are up to date and ensure accessibility of Emergency Procedures
• Check daily time/attendance to verify correct clock punches
• Coordinate Time Adjustment and PTO forms for staffing and HR processing
• Account for inventory losses/product shrink
• Review daily/weekly APT and Utilization reports to maintain performance
• Ensure all paperwork (logs, driver bills, and other operational documents) are filed

Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervise all receiving team members and provides guidance to any others working within area of responsibility

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise, train and mentor team members
• Responsible for ensuring proper product temperatures are reviewed, validated, maintained and documented with date, code and count in WMS (warehouse management system) from arrival at dock until put away, ensuring quality of products is never compromised
• Ensure trucks are unloaded properly and safely
• Ensure all pallets are tagged and recorded appropriately
• Must ensure the accurate location of product and protection of the same is adhered to by all employees
• Help control the OSHA Incident Rate (OIR) and Lost Time Incident Rate (LTI) by monitoring sanitation, safe working conditions, ensuring safety policies are followed, holding pre-shift meetings and proper usage of material handling equipment
• Monitor/audit daily for GMP, COOL procedures (Country of Origin Labeling), HAACP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) and other food safety guidelines
• Complete and file error and exception walk through template, pre-shift assignment and update template and equipment condition checklists
• Ensure Emergency Contact list for team members and building conditions are up to date Understand the Emergency Procedures, ensure they are accessible and participate in update reviews
• Check computerized time/attendance on a daily basis to verify team members have the proper time clock punches in the system
• Ensure all team member forms for Time Adjustment, PTO requests, etc. are coordinated for staffing purposes and turned into HR timely for processing in the correct pay period
• Account for any inventory losses/product shrink
• Review and take action based on daily and weekly APT and Utilization reports to ensure acceptable levels of performance are maintained
