Job summary

MITER Brands is hiring a Receiving Supervisor for 1st shift in Temecula, CA. The role oversees the receiving department, ensures accurate unloading, inspection, and transfer to inventory, and leads the team with a strong emphasis on safety and Lean 5S practices.

Responsibilities include supervising daily activities, training staff, validating documents, improving data accuracy in WMS, and coordinating with purchasing on discrepancies. Requires a High School diploma and WMS experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; APICS certification preferred.
• Strong experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), RF scanners, and Excel/Outlook.
• Valid certification to operate forklifts and electric pallet jacks.
• Proven problem-solving, coordination with purchasing, and calm handling of transactional issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for cross-department collaboration.
• Receiving/handling experience and inventory management knowledge.
• Glass handling knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the receiving department and lead the receiving team.
• Train and onboard new hires on SOPs, safety guidelines, and equipment.
• Schedule tasks based on shipment volumes and communicate performance metrics.
• Verify delivery docs against goods received for accuracy.
• Inspect incoming products for defects and initiate returns or freight claims as needed.
• Maintain clean, organized docks using 5S lean principles.
• Ensure timely data entry into WMS/ERP and support cycle counts.
• Enforce OSHA and company safety standards in the receiving area.
• Monitor equipment safety and arrange repairs as needed.
• Provide coaching and HR-kind disciplinary actions when required.
