Job summary

Paragon Staffing LLC in North Brunswick, NJ, is seeking a Shipping & Receiving/Forklift Operator to maintain accurate inventory and inspect incoming shipments. You will reconcile packing slips and ensure proper storage or delivery to the correct departments.

You will enter data into MAS 500, locate and consolidate stock, and move items using hand trucks and forklifts. Use handheld scanners and work with other departments to meet customer demand.

Qualifications

• Must maintain computerized inventory system promptly and accurately.
• Able to work effectively with all levels of employees; strong English language skills.
• Experience operating powered industrial trucks (forklifts, order pickers, walkies, trans-stackers, clamp trucks); certification desirable.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders; basic math.
• High school diploma or equivalency.

Responsibilities

Shipping & Receiving/ Forklift Operator

SUMMARY OF POSITION

To keep accurate records to all materials received and inventoried. Inspect shipments, and reconcile packing slips or manifests with actual items, and verify that materials are delivered to correct departments or properly stored in warehouse.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review all incoming items, inspecting them for quality, and ensuring proper paperwork is received.
• Enter all raw materials into MAS 500 system, verify entry, and post transactions.
• Locate and consolidate received materials to a bin location in the warehouse.
• Work closely with other departments to ensure a steady flow of materials needed to meet customer demand.
• Move materials, supplies, and finished goods to designated places in the facility, using hand trucks, forklifts, etc.
• Use of a handheld scanner to track and locate all materials.
• Maintains thorough knowledge of assigned processes and equipment.
• Reports any process and equipment problems to the attention of upper management and/or the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Responsible for all processes, equipment, employees, safety, and housekeeping of the area and meeting quality and quantity standards.
• Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
• Recognize non-confirming goods and to inform Quality Assurance Manager.
• Effective utilization of required systems, including HQMS, Sage 500 ERP/DSCS, and handheld scanners.
• Ensures established safety protocol is followed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• The ability to maintain computerized inventory system promptly and accurately.
• Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees and management. Have a good command of the English language.
• Experience operating powered industrial trucks, including forklifts, Order Pickers, Walkies, Trans-Stackers, and Clamp Trucks. Certification is desirable.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders for processing.
• Ability to use simple math and basic hand help measuring tools.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.
• High school diploma or equivalency degree.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, light to moderate physical effort is required. Ability to lift or maneuver materials in excess of 45+lbs. Regularly required to stand, reach and move about the facility.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is a fast-paced work environment with consistent pressure to complete duties as outlined above which requires ability to manage multiple projects at a detailed level and provide support to many internal departments in a fast-changing environment. Many duties listed above are time-sensitive and have strict deadlines for completion. Work performed in a Warehouse Manufacturing/Distribution Plant environment. Exposed to any number of elements but with none present to the extent of being disagreeable.
