Job summary

Bassham Foods Inc. in Memphis, TN is seeking a highly organized Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic distribution warehouse team. You will serve as the first contact for drivers, receive and document shipments, and prepare all paperwork related to shipments.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first point of contact for delivery drivers.
• Receive and process payments received by carriers.
• Receive, inspect, and document incoming shipments.
• Verify and count products to confirm data accuracy in system.
• Generate paperwork relating to shipment of product from the warehouse.
• Prepare loading documents, pick tickets and door assignments.
• Coordinate with warehouse and transportation to complete documents accurately and timely.
• Notify carriers and team members of pending, no-shows, or unscheduled arrivals.
• Maintain inventory records and proper storage of products.
• Collaborate with team members to optimize warehouse operations.
• Engage with drivers and reschedule appointments as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as first point of contact for delivery drivers.
• Receive and process paper and electronic payments received by carriers.
• Receive, inspect, and document incoming shipments.
• Verify and count products to confirm data accuracy in system.
• Accurately generates all paperwork relating to the shipment of product from the warehouse.
• Prepares all loading documents, pick tickets and door assignments.
• Coordinate with warehouse and transportation to make sure shipping/receiving documents are completed accurately and timely.
• Notify carriers and key team members of pending, no shows and/or unscheduled arrivals.
• Maintain inventory records and ensure proper storage of products could include manual verification of contained quantities.
• Collaborate with team members to optimize warehouse operations.
• Engage with drivers and reschedule appointments if necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.
