You will inspect returned medications, document items, coordinate with billing, and maintain control of inventory while following DEA guidelines. This role requires attention to detail, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and teamwork with pharmacists and technicians to ensure accurate record keeping and compliant operations in a fast-paced pharmacy

Qualifications

• Licensed Texas Pharmacy Technician in Texas required.
• Long Term Care pharmacy experience preferred.
• Pharmacy purchasing, ordering, or inventory management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process returned medications from long-term care facilities.
• Inspect returned drugs for compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Document and categorize returns.
• Prepare documentation for credits and coordinate with billing, as needed.
• Safely dispose of or prepare medications for restocking following proper procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of all returned items and actions taken.
• Ensure proper handling of controlled substances in compliance with DEA regulations.
• Perform all drug distribution duties.
• Receive orders from all vendors and correctly process into system.
• Responsible for inventory, place orders, check drugs & supplies.
• Enter medication orders in system accurately.
• Maintain floor stock, restocking, removal of expired medications.
• Rotate stock of medication areas to assure quality controls.
• Collaborate with pharmacists and other technicians to support workflow and compliance.
• Support and adherence policies for pharmacy standards.
• Team player and collaborate with others to support the goals of the pharmacy.
• Maintain a clean and organized returns area.
• Assist with inventory management and audits as necessary.
• Complete any other task assigned by the supervisor.
• Follow all company, state, and federal safety and compliance guidelines.
