Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; manufacturing experience preferred.
• Minimum 5 years forklift experience (sit-down/stand-up).
• Experience with ERP/MRP and inventory tracking software.
• Ability to read and write English and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and train a team of 8+ in receiving and material handling.
• Delegate tasks and monitor completion; ensure coverage across shifts.
• Manage receiving docs and ensure accurate records.
• Operate forklift (stand-up and/or sit-down) and forklifts with scale.
• Distribute material to machines and organize paperwork for issuing.
• Maintain time/attendance records and attend meetings.
• Identify issues and coordinate next steps with other departments.

POSITION SUMMARY: Provides leadership and oversight of receiving and material handling operations, ensuring accurate documentation, efficient support of production, and compliance with established procedures. Oversee and support all production material handling activities, directs daily work assignments, and ensures continuity of operations by providing coverage for absent personnel. This is a hands‑on supervisory role requiring active presence and coordination across all facilities.

Responsibilities/Duties

• Responsible for developing a cohesive team that operates with the utmost efficiency
• Responsible for training employees and/or temp workers in the department
• Must be able to delegate responsibilities to team members and to follow up on those responsibilities for completion.
• Knowledge of receiving procedures and processes to handle the receiving documentation
• Drive both stand-up & sit-down fork-lift truck possibly with scale.
• Pick up and distribute material to specified machines.
• Keep all paperwork pertaining to issuing material in an organized manner to be turned in.
• Fill out tags to indicate weight
• Distribute packages received when necessary
• Operate time and attendance system
• Attend meetings and initiate follow-up actions by proactively identifying issues, recommending solutions, and coordinating next steps.
• Complete other tasks as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Ability to supervise 8 + employees when needed including any second shift personnel.
• Will be responsible for annual reviews of all team members, setting goals, and helping with their development.
• Responsible for any disciplinary write-up and incident report forms that may be required.

ENVIRONMENTAL/PHYSICAL FACTORS

This position performs work duties both in a typical office and manufacturing floor environment. Exposure to moderate noise levels. Routine presence of hazardous materials that may require proper safeguards, procedures, and personal protective equipment

Requirements

Essential Physical Requirement

• Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to manage the department.
• Ability to climb ladders.
• Ability to move and handle inventory throughout the plant generally weighing up to 50 pounds.

Specified Knowledge/Skills

• Electric Forklift experience necessary (Sit down/Stand up) (5 years min)
• Operate computer, RF scanners
• Work well with multiple departments and team members
• Ability to communicate well with employees/management and outside drivers.
• Ability to accurately complete all documentation.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, flow, and material requirements throughout.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school education or GED
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience using ERP, MPR, and, or Inventory tracking software
• Required to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math.
• Must have good attendance record.
• Previous experience in manufacturing environment with supervision responsibilities is required, 1-3 years minimum.
