Job summary

Builders-Warehouse in Kearney, NE is seeking a Receiving Clerk for our local lumberyard. The role involves unloading trucks, verifying received merchandise, and handling orders and stock in a fast-paced environment.

Experience with forklifts and pallet jacks is important, along with the ability to lift heavy items and communicate across departments. This is a full-time on-site position with holiday pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Accuracy and attention to detail required.
• Ability to stand and lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks of lumber, building materials, and retail merchandise.
• Verify merchandise received accurately.
• Complete claims and returns for damaged or defective items.
• Pull special purchase orders and assign bin locations.
• Assist with invoicing for items picked up from special orders.
• Stock yard material in designated locations and merchandise freight via UPS.
• Operate forklift and pallet jack.
• Record information using a computer.
• Communicate with all departments.

Salary Range: $16.00 To $19.00 Hourly

Local lumberyard is looking for a Receiving Clerk.
Looking for a job where you can work inside and outside? Like a fast paced environment? Enjoy lumber & building materials?

Get to know the store inside and out! All products sold at the location come directly to you first. Receive vendor merchandise such as lumber, building materials, hardware, tools, paint, appliances, cabinets, flooring, and more. Accuracy and attention to detail is a must.

Some of the duties include:

• Unloading trucks - lumber & building materials and retail merchandise.


• Accurately verifying merchandise received.


• Completing claims and returns damaged merchandise from shipment and defective merchandise.


• Pulls all special purchase orders and assigns a bin location.


• Responsible for second notification of special purchase orders as to why it hasn’t been picked up or if it has been picked up to have it invoiced out of the computer.


• Unloads and stocks yard material in its specific place.


• Responsible for merchandising freight via UPS to customer.


• Daily operation of forklift and pallet jack.


• Communication with all departments.


• Operating a forklift and pallet jack.


• Using a computer to look up and record information.


• Ability to stand/walk.


• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs.


• Must be able to handle, move and locate material/merchandise.

Position is Monday through Friday. No weekends!
