Responsible for receiving and unloading all supplies, parts and equipment purchased from outside sources or products returned by customers, this includes but not limited to: All switch trucks and duties required to properly process the switch truck. Perform warehouse/ shipping/ packing, weighing, wrapping, staging product for shipment to same locations (e.g. warehouse, or same LTL truck) together on a daily basis as required. Load and unload external transportation systems (e.g. trucks). Check with traffic department to ascertain which truck to load and weight capacity. Responsible for checking quantities and weights in loading trucks, position shipments according to allowable axle weights, block load, if needed, to prevent shifting. Organize; consolidate correct packaging and packing, skidding of material to order requirements. Perform all pertinent functions required to assure customer receipt of packaged material in sound satisfactory condition. Verify LTL shipments using BOL to check packages/skids for proper address, weights, and order number to ensure correct material is shipped. Identify skids with proper shipping information from BOL to assist with shipping skids, including to mark, stencil, tag and label skids as required. Responsible for checking the quantities against shipping orders. Record weights, number and types of containers on bills of lading and shippers’ copies. Check condition of material, identify items, palletize, verify quantities and check against bills of lading, packing lists or other forms. Work with management regarding “questionable material” to make decision of reconditioning or scrap. Write up receiving reports, if required, and transfer or direct move men as to proper storage or staging locations. Use discretion to decide whether return material needs scrapped, refurb, disassembled or returned as is. Use hand and power tools to disassemble return material. Properly identify return material as assembly or component with barcode for easy put away. Generation of receipts list from AXAPTA to be used in conjunction with put aways. A put-away “return” list must accompany the returned material pallet before being put away by Water Spider. Manage receiving area lanes to ensure proper flow of material. Forward receiving reports and other papers to proper offices for recording and further processing. Record material to be returned for credit, notify Purchasing, and enter quantities on shipping order copy and forward for processing. Utilize available material handling equipment necessary to perform required duties. Responsible for writing up and loading outside processing on city truck. Perform other receiving duties incidental to the work; to include but not limited to: assisting in wrapping finished product skids and /or crates, identifying (marking, stencil, tagging etc..) skids with proper information from BOL’s, transferring material to staging locations for like trucking carries / warehouses. (Line 6, 5, 11 UA074) Maintain proper stocking levels of pallets, tieboard and popcorn. Assist in requisition and obtaining shipping and packing supplies essential to keep the various departments operational. (Line 7, 11 UA080 and Line 10 UA074) Daily cycle count of receiving area to ensure accurate inventory levels. Work with supervisor to correct discrepancies. Safety – Maintain sound safety practices and follow all safety regulations at all times. Keep work areas clean and orderly; to include but not limited to sweeping (to include the floor sweeper machine), Pick up and break down cardboard and dispose of properly as required. Perform various cleaning and housekeeping jobs to keep area clean, dump all trash receptacles in work including hoppers as needed daily. Complete all required 5S, Daily Management metric charts, graphs, sheets and boards.
