Job summary

Hive Collective is seeking a Receiving Associate to join our team in West Palm Beach. This full-time seasonal role supports the efficient receiving, organization, and preparation of merchandise for the sales floor.

You will handle sorting, inventory, and processing, using LightSpeed to track purchases, while collaborating with buyers and store management. The position runs September through March with potential to stay long-term; schedule Monday–Saturday, 9 AM–5 PM; starting pay $20 per hour,

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a retail receiving, warehouse, or similar environment.
  • Ability to accurately check in inventory and maintain organized backstock.
  • Comfortable using inventory management systems (experience with LightSpeed preferred).
  • Ability to calculate quantities and verify numbers.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Eagerness to learn about our extensive product collections and deliver informed customer service.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Mac OS applications.

Responsibilities

  • Sorting & Storing – Properly sort and place items on shelves or in designated storage areas.
  • Inventory Management – Organize and maintain backstock inventory to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
  • Receiving & Processing – Complete receiving tasks from start to finish, including sorting packages, opening product, checking in inventory, reporting discrepancies to buyers, preparing product for the floor, and tagging each item.
  • Quality Control – Verify quantities and ensure accuracy of product received by checking paperwork and purchase orders.
  • Communication – Report issues to Buyers and Store Manager and coordinate with other departments to ensure a seamless receiving process.
  • System Utilization – Use LightSpeed or other inventory systems to search for incoming product and purchase orders.
  • Organization & Cleanliness – Keep the receiving area clean, organized, and efficient.
  • Deadline-Oriented – Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with deadlines.
  • Additional Duties – Perform other tasks as assigned by the manager.
