Job summary

The Receiver I at Bob’s Red Mill’s World Distribution Center in Oregon is responsible for receiving BRM orders, tracking inventory, and loading and unloading trucks for inbound and outbound shipments. This on-site role supports food-safe warehouse operations and requires attention to safety policies.

Qualified candidates have 1+ years in a warehouse setting, the ability to operate a forklift and RF scanner, and a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• 1+ year warehouse receiving/inventory or forklift experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent; forklift certification required or able to obtain.
• Ability to read, understand, and communicate safety information in English.

Responsibilities

• Receives orders in a timely and accurate manner.

Shift: Mon/Tue/Wed/Fri, 10-Hr. shifts, 6:00 am - 4:30 pm

Wage: Starts at a base of $21.84/Hr.

Position Overview: The Receiver I is responsible for receiving BRM orders, tracking inventory, and loading and unloading trucks for inbound and outbound order shipments.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions

• Receives orders in an accurate and timely manner.
• Transfers all received orders to overstock bins.
• Unloads orders safely without damage to product or vehicles.
• Keeps the warehouse clean and organized.
• Escalates errors to supervisors.
• Complies with all company policies and procedures and operates all equipment in a safe and food-safe manner.
• Complies with Bob’s Red Mill food safety policies and procedures including adherence to FDA regulations, Safe Quality Food (SQF) Standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
• Responsible for reporting food safety and quality concerns to Supervisors and/or Department Manager.
• Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• None.
• This position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor.

Skills, Knowledge And Expertise

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to perform basic mathematical functions, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift.
• Ability to use a hand-held RF scanner.
• Possesses effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.
• Proficiency with basic hand tools and machinery setup.
• Ability to read, understand, and communicate operational and safety information in English.
• Demonstrates Respect, Teamwork, Accountability, and Determination.
• Ability to work in an environment where exposure to potential food allergens is or may be present.

Education and Experience

• 1 or more years of previous experience in a warehouse setting as a receiver, in inventory control, or as a forklift operator, AND
• High school diploma or equivalent; OR
• Any combination of education and additional years of experience that provides the necessary skills, knowledge, and ability to perform assigned tasks.
• Must hold or be able to obtain a forklift certification.

Physical Demands

• Frequently requires the ability to lift and stack products weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Position may require standing for long periods of time.
• Position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Work Environment

• The primary work environment for this position is within a warehouse setting.
• Employees will be exposed to common food allergens.
