Job summary

Food City is seeking a detail-oriented Receiving Associate for our Greeneville store to manage vendor check-in, product scanning, and paperwork while upholding company policies and safety standards.

You will ensure only authorized items are processed, monitor rear-area traffic, and clearly communicate rules to vendors. Food City offers strong benefits and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Meet standard physical, mental, and visual demands.
• Understand and follow verbal/written instructions; perform routine, repetitive tasks; interact with various levels daily.
• Attend on-site work during scheduled shifts per time/attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Check in all vendors in the receiving area.
• Scan or key in all product brought into the store.
• Discover and refuse unauthorized items delivered to the store.
• Control all traffic in and out of the rear area of the store and restrict unauthorized personnel.
• Complete and maintain all forms required by company management.
• Responsible for all paperwork such as invoices and credits.
• Secure receiving equipment against unauthorized use.
• Responsible for markdown and/or reclaim of damaged/spoiled merchandise in accordance with company policy and all local, state and federal laws.
• Require vendors to sign and/or fill out appropriate paperwork.
• Make sure all vendors are aware of the rules, procedures, and methods, which they must follow when delivering product to the store.
