Nucor Rebar Fabrication in Jewett, TX, is seeking a skilled teammate to bend, cut and load reinforcing steel bars according to customer orders. This role supports safety-first operations at North America’s leading fabricator and installer of concrete reinforcing steel.

You will operate bending and shearing machines, use an overhead crane, and assist in loading trailers while maintaining clean, safe work areas.

Qualifications

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Basic math skills to calculate bar measurements.

Responsabilités

• Bend, cut, bundle and load reinforcing steel bars per customer orders.
• Operate a shearing machine to cut bars to length.
• Operate a bending machine to shape bars.
• Use an overhead crane to move and load material.
• Run Fabmatic machine for cutting/bending shapes.
• Assemble and load orders onto trailers for shipping.
• Operate a power saw for cutting bars.
• Apply epoxy touch up or reinforcing steel with a spray gun.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and assist teammates.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING

• This is a rotating shift position. Teammates will switch between day and night schedules every other week.
• This position is working with Nucor Rebar Fabrication (NRF), a subsidiary of Nucor. This is not a Nucor Steel Texas job . NRF teammates must work with us for a minimum number of months before they may put an application forward to work in another Nucor Division.

PURPOSE

Bend, cut, bundle and load reinforcing steel bars in accordance with customer’s orders

Basic Functions

• Must adhere to Nucor Rebar Fabrication’s safety programs and standards.
• Demonstrate conduct consistent with Nucor Rebar Fabrication’s vision and values.
• Unload trailers and store material in storage bins.
• Operate a shearing machine to cut reinforcing steel bars to specific lengths.
• Operate a bending machine to bend reinforcing steel bars to specified shape.
• Operate overhead crane to move, assemble and select material to be fabricated or shipped.
• Operate Fabmatic machine that cuts and bends reinforcing steel bars to specified shapes.
• Assemble and load orders onto trailers for shipping.
• Operate power saw for cutting reinforcing steel bars to specified lengths.
• Operate a spray gun in the application of epoxy touch up or reinforcing steel bars.
• Maintain the shop or designated area in a clean and safe manner.
• Assist other employees in any of the above tasks.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
• Must have a high school diploma, GED or local/state equivalent
• Must have basic math skills to be able to calculate bar measurements
