Job summary

Commercial Metals Company in Gastonia, NC is seeking a detailer to support shipping, fabrication, and field problem solving. You will coordinate with customers, prepare detailing drawings, and help manage scope changes while ensuring accurate documentation and high standards of service.

We value experience with AutoCAD/MicroStation, reading blueprints, and strong organizational skills. This full-time role offers growth, training, and a pathway within a Fortune 500 company.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years detailing experience with AutoCAD/MicroStation or Structural Steel drawing experience.
• Experience reading blueprints required.
• Able to read construction specifications and drawings.
• Excellent customer service including follow through, time management, planning/organization and prioritizing.
• Proficient in MS Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Assist with shipping and receiving documentation.
• Assist with detailing, fabrication and field problems research.
• Coordinate with customers by scheduling material and deliveries and researching field problems or scope changes.
• Coordinate with Sales to schedule estimates/proposals and communicate scope changes.
• Ensure high levels of customer service across all touchpoints.
• Maintain orderly work area and accurate documentation for each job.
• Produce accurate and detailed rebar placing drawings per industry and company standards.

What You'll Do

• Assist with shipping and receiving documentation
• Assist with the research of detailing, fabrication and field problems
• Coordinate and assist with customer accounts by scheduling material and deliveries, along with conducting any research of field problems, detailing, fabrication, and/or changes to scope of work
• Coordinates with Sales Department to schedule estimates/proposal bids while coordinating/communicating any changes in the scope of work
• Ensure the highest level of customer service is taking place and all efforts are taken to satisfy customer needs at all levels, including: phone calls, meetings, etc.
• Maintains a desirable work area and accurate documentation of records for each job
• Produce accurate and detailed rebar placing drawings that conform to industry and company standards for various structures

What You'll Need

• Minimum 2 years of previous detailing experience utilizing AutoCAD/MicroStation and/or Structural Steel drawing experience
• Experience reading blueprints required
• Ability to read and comprehend construction specifications and drawings
• Excellent customer service including follow through, Time management, Planning/organization and prioritizing
• Proficient in MS Office programs – Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint & Bluebeam

Your Education

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required
