TotalEnergies Gas & Power North America, Inc. in Houston seeks a Real-Time Power Trader/Dispatcher to execute trading strategies for power assets, manage real-time risk, and ensure safe, reliable execution around the clock.

The role requires a minimum of 3 years of experience, an undergraduate degree, and familiarity with Python, R or MATLAB, plus strong Excel data analysis. 12-hour rotating shifts in a 24/7/365 operation are expected.

Responsibilities

• Maximize asset-backed revenue through economic dispatch and operational excellence.
• Submit bids to ancillary services markets.
• Collect, query, and analyze large datasets in Excel, and present analytical findings.
• Prioritize deliverables and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
• Build and maintain relationships with market participants and ISO operators.

The role operates in a high−stress setting where time‐critical decisions and activities are routine.

The Real−Time Power Trader/Dispatcher is responsible for executing the trading strategy of TotalEnergies Gas & Power North America. This role requires consistently operating in a manner that minimizes operational risk and ensures safe, reliable execution at all times.

• Execute real‐time asset‐backed trading for power assets managed by Total, including owned and third‐party assets.
• Monitor and oversee SCADA/EMS systems to ensure reliable operational performance.
• Identify and capture market opportunities through real‐time position management and analysis of market conditions.
• Maximize asset‐backed revenue through economic dispatch and operational excellence.
• Capture market opportunities by evaluating real‐time positions and analyzing current market conditions.
• Execute strategies developed by the Optimization team and submit bids to the various ancillary services markets.
• Collect, query, and analyze large datasets in Excel, and accurately present analytical findings.
• Prioritize deliverables and manage multiple tasks to meet time‐sensitive deadlines.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with market participants and ISO operators.
• Undergraduate degree in economics, finance, engineering, business administration, or equivalent experience.
